How can I know Christ better?

This is a question someone asked me privately. But it's a very good practical question for young girls, so I decided to share my answers here aswell.

Make some time to get to know God each day.

The story of Mary and Martha in the Bible is always a good reminder to me. Martha was busy serving Jesus, while Mary was sitting at his feet learning from Him. Too often I get so busy doing good things for God that I neglect to spend time with Him. And Jesus said we must abide in Him to be able to bring forth fruit.

When I was a single girl, I was able to have time first thing in the morning or in my room at night to read the Bible and pray. When I got married and then started having children, having a quiet time was not so easy! Nearly impossible---so many interruptions! I had to learn new ways and how to make the most of just a few minutes. So the way you do it is not so important.

I find it helpful to find a verse in the morning to think about during the day. Because it's very easy to read in the morning and then forget about it for the rest of the day (which is not much help)!

If God exists, how can there be so much suffering and pain?

Here is a story that answers this question!

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.

Is it Wrong to Touch Before Marriage?

It's not wrong, but it has a danger to it.

Fornication is clearly wrong, and the Biblical advice is...
Flee fornication...” 1 Corinthians 6:18

Here are two quotes I've heard that I think are good advice.
He who keeps off the ice will not slip.
He who wants to keep from harm must keep out of harm's way.

That's the safest way.

If all couples didn't touch till after marriage, there would be a lot less problems! Touching before marriage can make the temptation stronger. Also, until you're married there's always a possibility that something will happen to break the relationship.

Where does the Bible say that living together when not married is wrong?

I honestly only found the answer to this question a few months ago!
I remember talking to a friend once. She was telling me a story about a young guy from overseas who had stayed with them. He told them that when he went back home he was going to live with his girlfriend. My friend said to him, "Has anyone ever showed you from the Bible that it's wrong?" She showed him and as a result he got married instead.
When she told me that, I thought and nearly asked, "How did you show him it was wrong? Where in the Bible does it say that?"
